4 to 7 inches of snow expected between today and Wednesday

superior electric 250Mason County and surrounding areas are under a winter weather advisory beginning at 11 a.m. today until 1 p.m. Wednesday. A burst of snow is expected mid-day today. The snow should briefly lighten up late this afternoon, but will then intensify again by mid-evening. Snowfall is expected to continue the rest of the night and into Wednesday morning. A storm total of 4 to 7 inches of snow is expected by Wednesday afternoon. Visibility may be reduced often to below a half mile this afternoon and tonight.

Also, The Pere Marquette River at Scottville Riverside Park remains under a flood advisory until Thursday afternoon. At 9 a.m. this morning the stage was 4.2 feet, bank full stage is 4 feet and flood stage is 5.5 feet. The river is expected to rise to near 4.3 feet by this afternoon.
