River flood advisory; snow is coming back

superior electric 250The Pere Marquette River at Scottville Riverside Park is under a flood advisory until 1 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17. The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids stated as of 7 a.m. this morning the stage was 4 feet with bank full stage at 4 feet and flood stage at 5.5 feet. The river is expected to rise to near 4.6 feet by Tuesday evening.

Today’s weather forecast: Cloudy with a high temperature of 38 degrees; 30% chance of rain and snow showers developing later. Wind, south-southwest at 8 mph changing later to southwest at 10 mph.

Tonight: 30% chance of snow with a low of 25 degrees.

Tomorrow: Sunrise at 8:17 a.m. Periods of snow with a high of 28 degrees F; 80% chance of snow with 2 to 4 inches expected. Wind, east at 10 to 20 mph.
