79th District Court sentences, week ending Dec. 26, 2013

LUDINGTON — The following were sentenced this past week in Mason County’s 79th District Court:

  • Donald Eugene Penland Jr., 29, 1218 N. Wisner Ave., White Cloud, was found guilty on Dec. 19 for driving while license suspended/revoked/denied. He was ordered to pay $285 in fines and costs.

  • Heather Marie Ramirez, 34, 724 E. Filer St., Ludington, was found guilty on Dec. 17 for impaired driving. She was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for 1 year, serving 1 day; must attend Victims Impact Panel; must not violate any criminal laws; must attend Alcohol Highway Safety Education rehabilitative services and must pay $1,145 in fines and costs.

  • Deanna Dawn Gum, 46, 2311 S. Beaune Rd., Ludington, was found guilty on Dec. 17 of indecent exposure. She was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for 1 year; must have a substance abuse evaluation and follow recommendations; must not have/buy/use alcohol/illicit drugs; must not violate any criminal laws; must pay $580 in fines and costs.

  • Brittany Leigh Hernandez, 24, 405 Resseguie, Ludington, was found guilty on Dec. 17 for operating while intoxicated. She was sentenced to She was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for 1 year, serving 2 days; must attend Victims Impact Panel; must not violate any criminal laws; must not have/buy/use alcohol/illicit drugs; is subject to random PBTs at request of law enforcement; may perform 60 hours community service for a $600 credit towards fines/costs; must attend Alcohol Highway Safety Education rehabilitative services and must pay $1,245 in fines and costs.

  • Tonya Kaye Lange, 32, 202 ½ E. Melendy St., Ludington, was found guilty on Dec. 17 of domestic violence. She was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for 1 year; must comply with Child Protective Services requirements; must attend/complete Hands Down outpatient program; must not violate any criminal laws; must pay $580 in fines/costs.

  • Eugene Arthur Sinclair, 59, 212 E. Ludington Ave., Ludington, was found guilty on dec. 17 of OUIL. He was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for 1 year, serving 1 day; must attend Victims Impact Panel; must not violate any criminal laws; must attend Alcohol Highway Safety Education; must pay $1,145 in fines/costs.

  • Melisa Kaye Myers, 11864 W. U.S. 10, Branch, was found guilty on Dec. 17 for assault and battery. She was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for 1 year; must not have any contact with victim in the matter; must not violate any criminal laws; must pay $580 in fines/costs.

  • Christopher Frank Ramsdell, 40; 6548 S. Branch Rd., Branch, was found guilty on Dec. 17 of retail fraud third degree. He was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for 1 year, serving 35 days and credit given for time served; must live in Community Mental Health approved housing; must attend Alcoholics Anonymous two times per week with written verification to the court; must attend Economic Crime Program; must not have, buy or use alcohol/illicit drugs; subject to random drug tests at request of court or counselor; must not violate any criminal laws; must pay $602.98 in fines/costs.

  • Michael James Hill, 25, 8968 E. U.S. 10, Branch, was found guilty on Dec. 17 for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. He was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for 1 year, serving 1 day; must attend Victims Impact Panel; must not have/buy/use alcohol/illicit drugs; must not violate any criminal laws; must attend Alcohol Highway Safety Education; must pay $1,245 in fines/costs. A charge of operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .17 or more was dismissed.

  • Ashley Nicole Martinsen, 24, 400 W. Third St., Apt. 411, Scottville, assault with a dangerous weapon, dismissed on Dec. 18.

  • Joshua Alan Carr, 29, 1485 Betty Av., Ludington, operating while intoxicated, dismissed on Dec. 11.

  • Charles Anthony Wieand-Foley, 510 Washington Ave., Apt. 2, Ludington, operating a vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance, dismissed on Dec. 23.

  • Christopher Michael Woodard, 39, 6816 W. Victory Dr., Ludington, controlled substance possession, marijuana, dismissed on Dec. 19.
