Concert to benefit food pantries

376514_3720775627049_416995750_nLUDINGTON — A benefit concert featuring Fremont John Ashton and friends will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28 to raise money for the St. Simon and St. Jerome food pantries. The concert will be held at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts beginning at 7:30 p.m. Fremont John and friends will put on a blues show, featuring blues from different decades.

Tickets are $20 each, students with ID are $10 each. They may be purchased in advance from Ludington Area Center for the Arts, St. Simon’s church office, Snyder’s Shoreline Inn, The Evergreen or Instrumental Music Store.

In conjunction with the concert, several food drives are being held at several locations during regular : Village House, East Tinkham Ave.: 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.; Book Mark, Preferred Credit Union (formerly Grand Valley Credit Union), Michael John’s.

Those attending are also asked to bring a non-perishable food item.

Last week, the St. Simon pantry served over 400 people.
