LUDINGTON – The following defendants were sentenced this past week in 79th District Court:

–         Lauren Charlene Spinner, 22, of 414 Thornwild Dr., Apt. B-1, Scottville, was found guilty Aug. 20 of second degree retail fraud. She was sentenced to 24 days in jail with credit for 24 days served; $597 in fines, costs and restitution; outpatient treatment; one year discretionary jail for two years; must attend 90 Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)/Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meetings within 90 days; thereafter must attend AA/NA meetings twice a week for two years; no alcohol/drugs; subject to random preliminary breath tests (PBTs); and subject to random drug tests.
–         Kristen Brooke Iverson, 27, 5633 N. Jebavy Dr., Ludington, was found guilty on Aug. 28 of controlled substance possession of marijuana. She was sentenced to 90 days in jail; one year discretionary jail for two years. Must not purchase/possess/consume alcohol/illicit drugs. Must attend AA/NA while in incarcerated. Upon release from jail must attend AA/NA at least three times per week during probationary status. Must submit to random PBT tests at request of any police officer. Must submit to random drug testsing at request of the court or counseling agency; $1,095 in fines and costs.
–         Harley Michael Fisher, 17, 2844 Lena Dr., Ludington, was found guilty on Aug. 29 for smoking/possessing tobacco by a minor. He was placed on supervision and probation and must perform 20 hours of community service in lieu of fines/costs.
–         Daniel David Bates, 42, 501 First St., Unit A, Ludington, was found guilty on Aug. 29 for driving while license expired. He must pay $225 in fines and costs.
–         Leroy Allen Skutt, 59, 210 N. Reinberg Ave., Scottville, was found guilty on Aug. 29, for driving while license suspended/revoked/denied. He must pay $285 in fines/costs.
–         Ryan Ray Woods, 33, 718 S. Courtland, Hart, was found guilty on Aug. 29 for improper registration. He must pay $175 in fines/costs.
–         Ken David Sharp, 59, 902 N. Washington Ave., Apt. B16, Ludington, was found guilty on Aug. 29 for disobeying a police officer. He must pay $190 in fines/costs.
–         Tony Tyson Thornsberry, 30, of 1308 E. high St., Mt. Pleasant, was found guilty Aug. 20 of two counts of assault and battery. He was sentenced to two 15-day jail terms; 93 days discretionary jail for two years for each count; no contact with victims; and $1,160 in fines and costs.
–         Samuel Gilroy Smith, 21, of 1485 Carlson Rd., Frankfort, was found guilty Aug. 20 of operating while impaired by liquor. He was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend the next session of the Victims Impact Panel; no alcohol/drugs; subject to random PBTs; subject to random drug tests; and $1,45 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.
–         Christopher Jon Hodde, 50, of 1468 N. Dennis Rd., Ludington, was found guilty Aug. 21 of controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and DWLS. He was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served for each count; $1,160 in fines and costs; one year discretionary jail for two years for each count; must have a substance abuse evaluation and follow recommendations; and no alcohol/drugs. Sanctions reportable to MSP, license suspended 365 days, restricted 305 days.
–         Chad Michael Looman, 40, of 6770 E. First St., Branch, was found guilty Aug. 26 of failure to display a valid license. He was sentenced to $275 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.
–         Scott Erik Phelps, 41, of 202 ½ E. Danaher St., Ludington, was found guilty of open intoxicant in a vehicle/passenger. He was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; $265 in fines and costs; and 12 months probation. Conviction reportable to SOS.
–         Sion Dominique Scott, 33, of 220 Dekfaft, Big Rapids, was found guilty of open intoxicant in a vehicle/passenger. He was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; $265 in fines and costs; and 12 months probation. Conviction reportable to SOS.

Dismissals

–         Dennis Michael Miszewski, 60, of 4200 E. Dewey Rd., Fountain, one count of trespassing dismissed Aug. 18.
–         Daniel Teague, no address or date of birth listed, one count of prowling was dismissed Aug. 22.
–         Bryan Dale Olson, 31, Mason County Jail, one count of aggravated assault was dismissed Aug. 21.
