Cake walk to benefit Alzheimer’s Association

LUDINGTON — The descendants of Alice Vander Veer, also known as Team Vander Veer are holding a cake walk on Saturday, Aug. 24 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Bud’s Tap Room.

People can participate in the cake walk until they win or until the family is out of baked goods. A new walk will start every 10 to 15 minutes. A $10 donation is being requested.

Items will also be raffled, including a hand crafted bench, homemade bird feeders, hand made beaded flag, gift certificates, items from Lowe’s and Carter Lumber, plus much more. Raffle tickets are $5 for one arm’s length or $10 for a wingspan of tickets.

Alice Vander Veer is the mother of five, grandmother of 11 and great-grandmother of 10. She also has Alzheimer’s disease.
