Man injured while attempting break in

August 21, 2013

LUDINGTON — A man was injured this morning as he attempted to break into Ray’s Auto-Marine, 801 S. Washington Ave. EMS, fire and police were called to the scene where the man was tended to and then transported to the hospital.

“He was an older gentleman,” owner Ray Karboske Jr. “He seemed pretty disoriented. It looks like he broke into the building and tried to exit through a window instead of going through a door. He was hanging upside down by his knees, partially out a window.”

The business serves as a marina for charter boats, as well as marine and auto repair. Karboske said one of the charter boat people found the attempted burglar when he went to his the building’s bathroom.

Ludington Police Department, Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Ludington Fire Dept. and Life EMS were called. Police were still on scene at 9:30 a.m.
