5 receive sentences in circuit court this week

LUDINGTON – The following defendants were sentenced this week in 51st Circuit Court:

Battice

Battice

–         Thomas Alan Battice, 48, of 3744 First St., Custer, was found guilty June 19 of second-degree criminal sexual conduct (CSC) with a person under age 13. He was sentenced Aug. 13 to a minimum of five to a maximum of 15 years with the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC). Per statute, he is required to be on Lifetime Global Positioning Systems (GPS) Status upon his release from prison. Three counts of first-degree CSC with a person under age 13 and one count of habitual offender, fourth conviction, were dismissed.

Linstrom

 

–         Kaine Alexander Linstrom, 18, of 418 N. Perry St., Ludington, was found guilty June of second-degree home invasion. He was sentenced Aug. 13 to one year in jail with credit for 154 days served; must serve eight months up front with the balance to be served at the court’s discretion; 24 months probation; and $8,379.38 in restitution, fines and costs. One count of safe breaking was dismissed.

Metheny

–         Louis John Metheny, Jr., 823 N. Benson Rd., Fountain, was found guilty June 18 of controlled substance possession, less than 25 grams, and habitual offender, third conviction. He was sentenced Aug. 13 to one year in jail; serve seven months up front with the balance to be served at the court’s discretion; $198 in fines and costs; and sentence runs concurrent with parole violation sentence. One count of habitual offender, fourth conviction was dismissed.

–         Trauhn Damone Johnson, 32, of 1038 Lancer Lane, Lot 43, Ludington, was found guilty June 18 of controlled substance, subsequent offense, delivery/manufacture. He was sentenced Aug. 13 to one year in jail with credit for 113 days served; must serve five months up front with balance to be served at court’s discretion; 12 months probation; and $698 in fines and costs.

Tanner

–         Angela Beth Tanner, 33, of 14787 Apple Dr., Lot 313, Fruitport, was found guilty June 27 of operating under the influence of liquor (OUIL), third offense. She was sentenced Aug. 13 to 270 days in jail with credit for 58 days served; serve six months up front with balance to be served at the court’s discretion; after serving five months in jail, may be released to an inpatient (IP) program and given day-to-day credit; 60 days community service; 24 months probation; and $1,048 in fines and costs. One count of assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer was dismissed.
