troyer boysCARR SETTLEMENT — Neighbors are coming together to help a family cope with a recent tragedy. On Aug. 1, 9-year-old Jethro Troyer and his 7-year-old brother Leander drowned in a recently dug pond on the family’s Tyndall Road farm.

Neighbors Blake and Anna Mazurek are doing something to help remember the boys. They, along with other neighbors, have started an online fundraising campaign to turn the pond into a memorial garden.

“This devastated the family and will forever change their lives,” Blake said. “The pond is now being filled in and in place the family would like to create a place of peace and remembrance. The community and friends of the Troyers want to help.”
