Lake Express not operating

Lake Express carferry is currently not operating. The ferry operates between Milwaukee and Muskegon.

Patrick Lopeman of WMOM radio said he was told by the Milwaukee ticket office that the catamaran will not be running until at least Saturday.

“They will not verify that it’s a problem with the propulsion system,” Lopeman said “That has been the cause of mechanical failure in the past. Three Coast Guard crewmen were seen inspecting the ship late Tuesday afternoon.”

The SS Badger, which runs between Ludington and Manitowoc, Wis., is still operating two sailings a day.
