Series is open to the public.

LUDINGTON – Ludington Area Center for the Arts partners each summer with Epworth to bring quality family entertainment to Ludington. This partnership also allows LACA to help Epworth communicate that their events are open to the public in addition to increasing awareness of the Arts Center to summer residents at Epworth.

This summer’s series opens with the Annual Ice Cream Social on Wednesday, June 26 at 7:30 p.m. featuring the Cajun and Zydeco sounds of Creole du Nord. The Ann Arbor quintet consists of accordion, fiddle, banjo, electric guitar and percussion and its sound can be traced back to southwest Louisiana’s traditional music. There are no tickets needed, but donations will be accepted as you enter. During the concert, which is held on the grounds of the Epworth Hotel, build your own sundae with ice cream generously donated by House of Flavors. After the concert, visit the Epworth Museum, located within the Epworth Hotel, which will stay open until 9:30pm. These special hours will be in place for each event in the summer series.

Next in the series, the partners present Planet D Nonet on Wednesday, July 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Epworth Auditorium. This ensemble from Detroit plays a fun mix of swing, jazz and rhythm and blues. It was a regular feature in Pentwater’s concerts on the Village Green last summer. Tickets are available at the LACA office for a suggested donation of $10 and proceeds equally benefit LACA and the Epworth Church Association.

Finally, on July 31, Epworth presents its comedy night featuring Taylor Mason. A winner of Star Search, Taylor combines comedy, ventriloquism and music to provide family appropriate entertainment. His quick wit, flawless delivery and polished material make him a hit for audiences of all ages.
