busesLUDINGTON — Voters in the Ludington Area Schools district are deciding on two issues today.

The board of education is requesting .22 mill for nine years for a transportation bond. If passed, the bond will replace the school’s aging bus fleet of 20 buses over the nine year period. The newest bus is 9-years-old.

The board is also going to ask for a sinking fund millage for buildings and site purposes. That request is for .25 mill for 10 years.

Interim Superintendent David Killips said neither of the millage requests will increase the tax rate.

Ludington is the only Mason County school district with an election today. Polls stay open until 8 p.m.
