Badger partners with Road America

ELKHART LAKE, Wis., – Road America announced today a special partnership with the S.S. Badger, the largest carferry on Lake Michigan, offering race fans a convenient and affordable travel option to take a shortcut across the water from Michigan and enjoy events at America’s National Park of Speed!

The S.S. Badger provides ferry service from Ludington, Mich., to Manitowoc, Wis.., allowing for a short drive out to Road America. The S.S. Badger carferry celebrates its 60th Anniversary in 2013 and is also listed on the national registry of historic places. It has transported over 2.5 million passengers since its re-birth in 1992 and can accommodate 600 passengers and 180 vehicles – including RVs, motorcycles, commercial loads and motor coaches.

Established in 1955 as the first permanent road racing course in the United States, Road America is located midway between Milwaukee and Green Bay in Elkhart Lake, Wis.
