LUDINGTON — The Mason County Sheriff’s office arrested Donald Allan Chamberlain, 42, Wednesday afternoon in connection to a felonious assault that took place Wednesday morning about 1 a.m. in the 4700 block of East Fisher Road at Chamberlain’s residence.

Deputies were called to the residence Wednesday morning for a complaint of shots being fired. A 41-year-old woman, who has had a relationship with Chamberlain, reported there had been an argument, beginning when he allegedly poked her in the leg with a knife. Deputies reported there was no sustainable injury but the argument became more heated. The woman, her 15-year-old son and a 37-year-old Fountain man all left the residence.

As they were leaving they reported that they heard shots being fired from the house. No one was injured from the gun fire, shot from a .22 caliber rifle that was recovered by deputies.

The warrants for the Custer area man’s arrest were served Wednesday afternoon by the Mason/Oceana Sheriff’s Response Team. Chamberlain surrendered without incident and is in custody at the Mason County Jail.

He has been charged with three counts of assault with intent to do great bodily harm, three counts of felony firearm and one count of domestic violence, third offense. Also included was a habitual offender fourth offense notice. He is being held on a $75,000 cash bond with hearing scheduled for April 10 at 11:15 a.m.
