St. Patrick’s celebrations offer variety of events

LUDINGTON — Dress in your favorite green garb Saturday, March 16 during the Saint Patrick’s Day festivities in downtown Ludington. Your Irish eyes will be a’ smiling when you find the pot o’ gold at the end of the rainbow.
The Shamrock Parade begins at noon, featuring fun floats and lively Irish kin. The weekend celebration will also include a 5K Jig, a Kegs and Eggs Breakfast, Saving O’ The Green Indoor Sidewalk Sales, a pub crawl at participating bars and restaurants and  entertainment at James Street Plaza.

Schedule of Events
– Kegs & Eggs Breakfast: 9 a.m. to noon at Sportsman’s Irish Pub. Enjoy eggs and corned beef hash for $6 and pints of Guinness for $3.
– Irish 5K Jig: registration is from 9-9:45 a.m., race begins at 10 a.m. at North James Street Plaza, cost to participate is $25.
– Saving O’ The Green Indoor Sidewalk Sales: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., several businesses will offer specials and promotions, and some business hours may extend later.
– The Shamrock Parade:  noon, presented by Sportsman’s Irish Pub, route goes from Danaher Street north on South James Street to Ludington Avenue to Rath Avenue.
– Entertainment with Irish dancers and music, 1 p.m., North James Street Plaza.
– St. Patty’s Day Pub Crawl, 6-11 p.m. Purchase a $5 pub crawl punch card and go to six of the participating establishments to earn a signature on your card. Bring completed cards by 10:45 p.m. to Stearns Motor Inn/Tiki Lounge to be entered into a drawing at 11 p.m. for prizes and cash.
– Participants in any of the St. Patty’s Day activities will receive an entry into the Pot-O-Gold drawing.

Prior to Ludington’s Shamrock Parade, join the party in Pentwater where a Saint Patrick’s Day Parade begins at 11 a.m. The route goes through the downtown, beginning at south end of the village. The Antler Bar will offer drink specials and parade prizes.
