Bowling tournament will benefit Hospice

AMBER TWP. — The sixth annual Ted Douglas Memorial Scotch Doubles Bowling Tournament will be held Saturday, March 2 at Country Lanes Bowling Alley on U.S. 10-31. The tournament, which begins at 2 p.m., will help support Hospice of Michigan’s Mask Project 2013. Cost is $30 per team of two, prizes and trophies will be awarded. The public is invited to participate.

New this year is the separate Kid’s Fun Tournament for ages 3 to 12. For a fee of $10, kids will get three games and shoe rental; and the first 50 to register will receive a goody bag.

There will be door prizes awarded throughout the afternoon for both adults and children. Raffles will also be a part of the festivities.

Registration forms can be obtained by visiting the bowling center or calling event chairperson Bob Taylor at 231-690-0397 or by emailing jtaylor@hom.org. Late registration will be at 1 p.m. the day of the event, providing there are lanes available.

The event supports the local Hospice of Michigan office serving Benzie, Lake, Manistee, Mason and Oceana counties.
