Man arrested for threatening neighbor

SHERMAN TWP. Fox 17 is reporting the Michigan State Police has arrested a 51 year old man who was standing in his neighbor’s yard holding a shotgun wanting to kill his neighbor.

The incident took place Saturday afternoon around 2:30 p.m. the 2000 block of East Dewey Road.

When troopers arrive on the scene, the man was allegedly intoxicated and stating he wanted to kill his neighbor. The suspect resisted arrest for a short time, Fox 17 reports.

While the man was being booked in the Mason County Jail, he fought with the corrections officer in the booking area so he was place in a holding cell. In the holding cell the man used a lighter and ignited the toilet paper on fire.

The suspect faces charges of assault with intent to murder, discharge of a firearm at a dwelling, felony firearm, possession of a firearm while intoxicated, resisting and obstructing police and arson.

No injuries with the victim, responding officers or the suspect during this incident.
