District court sentences

LUDINGTON — The following are the most recent sentences from 79th District Court.

– David Gene Newman, 39, 241 E. Johnson Rd., Apt. 1, Scottville, was found guilty on Jan. 15 of retail fraud third degree. He was sentenced to 37 days in jail and 93 days discretionary jail for one year along with $188.02 in fines.
– Evalyn Ruth Henderson, 43, 302 N. Robert St., Ludington, was found guilty on Jan. 15 of retail fraud second degree. She was sentenced to two days in jail and one year discretionary jail for two years. She must attend the economic crime program and pay $880 in fines and restitution. A charge of retail fraud third degree was dismissed.
– Tomika Lashawn Phillips, 36, 173 N. Stiles Rd., Amber Twp., was found guilty on Jan. 15 of driving while license suspended/revoked. She was sentenced to two days in jail and one year discretionary jail for two years along with $760 in fines.
– Tina Ann Bailey, 32, 110 S. Taylor Rd., Branch, was found guilty on Jan. 15 of retail fraud third degree. She was sentenced to 25 days in jail and 93 days discretionary jail for one year. She must attend the economic crime program and pay $580.
– Karla Kay Dyer, 23, 6700 Basswood, Ludington, was found guilty on Jan. 15 for larceny less than $200. She was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year and must attend an economic crime program, $665 in fines.
– Robert Scott Falconer, 44, 103 Gay St., Scottville, was found guilty on Jan. 15 of controlled substance use. His license was suspended for 180 days and restricted for 30 days. He was sentenced to one year discretionary jail for two years and must attend the Victims Impact Panel. He must pay $580 in fines. A charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, second offense, was dismissed.
– Krystal Lynn Hayes, 27, 607 E. Danaher St., Ludington, was found guilty on Jan. 15 of operating a vehicle while intoxicated second offense. He was sentenced to 49 days in jail and one year discretionary jail for two years; must attend a substance abuse evaluation within two weeks of sentencing; must attend Impact Weekend and follow recommendations; $1,545 in fines. A charge of refusing to take a breath test was dismissed.
– Steve Dale Wallis, 67, 1747 N. Evergreen, White Cloud, was found guilty on Dec. 19 for possession of an uncased firearm. He was sentenced to two days in jail and 90 days discretionary jail for one year; must forfeit the gun and pay $580 in fines; probation. A charge of reckless driving was dismissed.
– Gary Allen Vanderwall, 58, 3921 W. Hansen Rd., Custer, was found guilty on Jan. 14 for excess bait. He was ordered to pay $185 in fines.
– Jeffrey Scott Robinson, PO Box 1141, 1770 Leisure Loop, Baldwin, was found guilty on Jan. 3 of open intoxicants in a vehicle. He received probation, 90 days discretionary jail for one year and must pay $265 in fines.
– Christopher Eugene Brown, 25, 105 N. Delia St., Ludington, was found guilty on Jan. 3 of being a disorderly person. He was sentenced to two days in jail with 30 days discretionary jail time for one year; ordered to pay $265 and was put on probation for 12 months.
– Randy Lee Cole, 42, 4787 W. Chauvez Rd., Riverton Twp., was found guilty on Jan. 3 of driving while license suspended. He was sentenced to 60 days discretionary jail for one year, placed on probation and must pay $285 in fines.
– Andrew Robert Bates, 23, 704 E. Filer St., Ludington, was found guilty on Jan. 3 of disorderly/trespassing. He was sentenced to two days in jail and must pay $265 in fines.
– Drew Percy Amy, 22, 6919 E. U.S. 10, Branch, was found guilty on Jan. 14 of allowing a person to drive in violation. He was ordered to pay $325 in fines.
– Matthew Peter Heyse, 33, 1751 N. Lincoln Rd., Hamlin Twp., was found guilty on Jan. 14 of failure to display a valid license. He was ordered to pay $275 in fines.
– Rafael Enol Serrano-Ortaga, 28, 107 Water St., Ludington, was found guilty on Jan. 3 for driving while unlicensed. Sentence: 1 day jail with 30 days discretionary jail for one year; probation; $275 fines.
– Daniel Lee Mallison, 40, 1146 Brandy Lane, Ludington, was found guilty on Jan. 3 of disorderly person, public intoxication. He was sentenced to two days in jail with 90 days discretionary jail for one year; probation; $265 fines.
– Thomas Tommy-Teague Noa, 28, 110 N. Washington Ave., Ludington, was found guilty on Dec. 26 for disorderly person; 19 days jail with 90 days discretionary jail for one year; $265 fines; probation.
– Joseph Henry Meisenheimer, 46, 1566 N. Victory Corner Rd., Victory Twp., was found guilty on Jan. 7 for hunting without a license; 90 days discretionary jail for one year, $255 fines; probation.
– Benjamin Lee Towers, 35, 707 N. Lavinia St., Ludington, was found guilty on Jan. 4 of disorderly person; eight days jail with 90 days discretionary jail for one year; $265 fines; probation.
– Elrico James Brooks, 33, 839 Layfayette St., Grand Rapids, was found guilty on Jan. 8 of driving while license suspended; one day jail with 93 days discretionary for one year; $285 fines.
– Tyler Joel Griffin, 21, 907 S. Madison St., Ludington, was found guilty on Jan. 3 of driving while license was suspended/revoked/denied; sentence two days jail with 93 days discretionary jail for one year; $285 fines; probation.
– Mara Lynn Finley, 18, 516 N. Jebavy Dr., Pere Marquette Twp., was found guilty on Jan. 10 of minor in possession of alcohol; six months probation; $335 fines.

– John Dennis Shafer, 50, 1482 W. Birch St., Amber Twp., controlled substance delivery/manufacture of marijuana.
