A letter of thanks to citizens of Mason County

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported me in my successful bid to become Mason County’s next Probate Judge. It was extremely humbling to see just how much people were willing to stand behind me, and for this, I am eternally grateful. I would like to thank in particular, my family, Judge Mark Raven and his family, the members of my Committee and my Legal Assistant, Misty Frane. Everyone’s hard work truly paid off.

The campaign process is long, grueling, and emotionally draining. It is also tough on the family. However, the process also provided me with the opportunity to meet hundreds of wonderful people who live in this great county. Be it knocking on doors, walking in parades, attending Friday Night Lives, or manning our booth at the Fair, the positive contact I had with so many people will be my fondest memory of this past summer.

To my opponent, Nicholas Krieger: You ran a valiant campaign, right to the very end. I am certain that your future is bright, and I wish you nothing but the best in whatever you choose to pursue to down the road.

This race provided a stunning example of how each and every vote counts. Many of the precincts were separated by just a few votes, and the final margin of victory was razor thin. If you believe in democracy, and all that it stands for, please take the time to get to know the candidates, do the research, and then vote for the candidate of your choice.

It is truly an honor to be given the opportunity to serve the citizens of Mason County as Probate Judge. I look forward to this new challenge. I intend to continue the tradition of excellence that previous judges in this county have established over the years. I hope to meet or exceed the standard they have set for me.

Once again, my heartfelt thanks go out to all of the citizens of Mason County.

Sincerely,

Jeffrey C. Nellis
