Truck hits house

UPDATE: PERE MARQUETTE TWP. — An 88-year-old Pentwater man was air lifted to a Grand Rapids hospital Monday night following a two car accident on Pere Marquette Highway at Chauvez Road.

According to witnesses on the scene, a truck driven by a 57-year-old Ludington man was heading south on PM Highway about 6:20 p.m. The driver of the truck was slowing down to turn on Chauvez Road when his vehicle was rear-ended by a truck driven by the 88-year-old man.

The 88-year-old’s truck then went off the road and struck a house, owned by Yolanda and Randy Cole, at the southeast corner of the intersection. The 57-year-old was uninjured.

Pere Marquette and Ludington fire departments, Life EMS and Mason County Sheriff’s Office responded.
