Rep. Franz hosting sportmen’s townhall meeting

September 13, 2012
With the start of fishing and hunting season upon us, State Representative Ray Franz is hosting a Sportsmen’s  townhall / meet and greet on Saturday September 15th.  Joining Representative Franz are his special guests and hunting enthusiasts Rep. Dave Agema and DNR Director Keith Creagh.
Creagh was named director of the DNR in June and the position fits well into Creagh’s personal life.  A lifelong outdoorsman and proud Eagle Scout, he grew up hunting and fishing with his family.  He still remembers the excitement, as a 10 year old when his father invited him to his first deer camp – a tradition the two still share.
A high school jock, Creagh quit the college swimming team “so I could go hunting and fishing,” he said.  He “lived on game and fish in college” and spent one term running a trap line for muskrats in order to pay for a mule dear hunting trip to New Mexico.
The townhall will be held on Saturday, September 15th from 1 to 3 pm at Legends Taxidermy in Scottville.  Light refreshments will be served.
Questions can be directed to Rep. Franz’ local office at 231-889-7035.
