AMBER TWP. — Firefighters from Pere Marquette and Scottville fire departments were called to a pole barn fire at Hardman Construction, 242 S. Brye Rd., Wednesday about 3:50 p.m. Light smoke was showing at one of the buildings located on the site when firetrucks arrived on scene. More information to come.

LUDINGTON — Ludington Police Chief Mark Barnett was recently granted a leave of absence under the Family and Medical Leave Act. Barnett is out of state taking care of a medical condition involving one of his family members, he said.
