Miller elected Amber Township treasurer

AMBER TOWNSHIP — Jeannie Miller was elected Amber Township treasurer Tuesday during the Republican primary election. Miller defeated incumbent Connie Anderson 262-150 (unofficially). Squires re-elected to county commission

Dr. Lewis Squires was re-elected to the Mason County Board of Commissioners representing District 4 during the Tuesday Republican primary election. Squires defeated opponent David Holden 501 to 268. The district represents Amber Township and northern Pere Marquette Charter Township. Squires will be on the November General Election ballot. Stakenas, Miszewski win Sherman Township Republican trustee nominations

SHERMAN TOWNSHIP — William Stakenas and Chelsea Miszewski won the Republican nominations for the Sherman Township Board of Trustees race Tuesday. Unofficial results were: Stakenas, 85; Miszewski, 77, and Michael Genung, 66. Stakenas and Miszewski will face off against Democrat Lori Cregg for the two open seats in the November General Election.

Bacon re-elected to county commission seat

Ron Bacon was re-elected to the Mason County Board of Commissioners representing District 7 during the Tuesday Republican primary election. Bacon defeated Aldon Maleckas 449-149 (unofficial). There was no Democratic candidates. District 7 represents Branch, Custer, Logan and Sheridan townships.

Logan Township fire millage renewal passes

LOGAN TOWNSHIP — The Logan Township fire millage supporting Carr Area Fire Department passed 76-17.
