Trooper Butterfield memorial service scheduled for Monday

FREE SOIL TOWNSHIP —The annual memorial service honoring fallen Michigan State Police Trooper Paul Butterfield will be held on Monday, Sept. 9 beginning at 6 p.m. Butterfield was killed on duty by a gunman on Sept. 9, 2013 while conducting a routine traffic stop on Custer Road north of Townline Road.
