Free Soil Township voters approve community center millage. FREE SOIL TOWNSHIP — Voters in Free Soil Township voted 135 to 67 to approve a .5 mill increase for five years Tuesday during the Presidential Primary election. The millage’s purpose is for operating and maintaining the Free Soil Community Center. The estimated increase will raise approximately $16,000 in the first year.
