Margaret Jane McKee, 64, of Fountain, formerly of Battle Creek, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025.
Maggie was born on March 12, 1961, the daughter of Evie Cress. She attended Battle Creek High School. She was employed as an in-home care giver, in Des Moines, Iowa, for six years.
Known as a fruit loop by her family members, she was equally loving, caring, and motherly. She had a sassy and stubborn side yet still found ways to charm; beautiful, inside and out. Her days were spent camping and checking out the birds who would come to visit her. She also enjoyed watching western and classic movies and solving crossword puzzles.
Maggie is survived by her fiancé, Bill Mayse; children, Crystal Chadwick, Allen (Danielle) Chadwick, and Maxine (Gabe) Malburg; grandchildren, Salvador, Jose, Isabel, Sofia, Adrianna, Amiya, Noah, Gabriel, Ian, Kaylee, Katelyn, Ethan, and Laina; siblings, Larry Cress, Tom Cress, Jean Mayse, Mike and Michelle Mayse, and Gary and Vonnie Mayse; and many other extended family members and friends.
Maggie was preceded in death by her mother, Evie Cress.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 11a.m. at Bachelor Evangelical Covenant Church, in Sheridan Township. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. at the church. A luncheon will follow at the church.
