RIVERTON TOWNSHIP — A 35-year-old Ludington woman was arrested by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday, May 21, and faces charges of domestic assault and assault on a health care worker. Deputies responded to the 4900 block of South Stiles Road at 11:20 p.m. After the arrest, during transport in a sheriff’s vehicle to the Mason County Jail, the woman started making suicidal threats and began banging her head on the cage inside the patrol car, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole. She was then transported to Corewell Health Ludington Hospital for an evaluation of her mental health, at which time, she reportedly assault an emergency department employee.
Other activity of the Mason County Sheriff’s Office from May 21 included:
– 9:05 a.m.: Car/deer crash, no injuries, Fountain and Larson roads, Sheridan Township.
– 1:45 p.m.: Two vehicle crash, no injuries, US 31 bypass and US 10, Amber Township.
– 2:08 p.m.: Two vehicle crash, no injuries, US 31 and Countyline Road, Grant Township.
– 8:45 p.m.: A 34-year-old Scottville man was arrested on an outstanding Mason County criminal bench warrant, failure to appear in court, following a traffic stop at Main Street and Broadway Avenue, City of Scottville.
– 9:37 p.m.: Car/deer crash, no injuries, Pere Marquette Highway north of Kistler Road, Summit Township.
