April 30, 2025

SHELBY — Shelby State Bank recently announced three staff promotions.

Drew Maus

Drew Maus was promoted to vice president and commercial lender. Maus is a graduate of Michigan State University and joined Shelby State Bank’s credit department in 2017. He quickly moved to credit officer, overseeing the credit department. His work on Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans during the pandemic was instrumental for area small businesses. Maus was promoted in 2021 to commercial lendern.

Erin Stark

Erin Stark was promoted to assistant vice president/human resource officer. Stark is a graduate of Grand Valley State University and built an extensive background in human resources in the manufacturing, agriculture and hospitality industries before joining Shelby State Bank in 2021. Her focus on enhancing the employee experience has benefited team members and customers alike. In the past year she has also taken on the role of board secretary.

Clarissa Moon

Clarissa Moon has been promoted to branch officer in the bank’s Montague office. Moon joined Shelby State Bank in 2023 as branch manager in Montague with an extensive banking background including daily operations, branch operations and fraud resolution. She also played a leading role in projects like the bank’s 2024 technology upgrades. Moon is very involved in the community, in particular with the Montague-Whitehall Rotary Club and the White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.

“All three officers are well deserving of these promotions,” said Mishelle Comstock, president and CEO. “They exemplify the commitment to excellence our staff adheres to, and I am appreciative of their hard work and dedication to the organization and our customers.”

Shelby State Bank was established in 1931 and has grown to operate ten branches in Western Michigan stretching from Fruitport to Manistee.
