Obituary: James R. Scherer, 69, of Ludington

James R. Scherer, 69, of Ludington, passed away Friday, March 19, 2021. He was born January 28, 1952 in Toledo to Jerry and Margaret (Whiteman) Scherer. Jim married Karen Boetscher on May 21, 1987 in Las Vegas.

Jim enjoyed golfing, bowling, NASCAR, fishing, boating, hunting, and hockey. 

Jim will be greatly missed by his wife, Karen; his children, Angela Ray, Bradley Scherer, Shelley Peek, and Chris Szymoniak; his grandchildren, Nakota Szymoniak, Madison Peek, Iris Peek, Mason Ray, Hayley Ray, Weston Ray, Landon Ray, Harper Scherer; his brother, Larry Scherer; and his beloved dogs, Bailey and Katie.

According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers or donations, plant a tree in Jim’s name.
