Thomas Kintner

Thomas Kintner, 75, of Custer, formerly of Dimondale, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. Born on March 25, 1951, in Flint to Ezra and Marjory (Lannon) Kintner, Tom lived a life that left a lasting smile.

A 1969 graduate of Flint Southwestern High School, Thomas was known for his witty, dry sense of humor, a gift that those who knew him will long remember. He found happiness in the pursuits that meant the most to him and took great pleasure in the rhythms of the seasons and the traditions he loved.

Thomas enjoyed spending time duck and deer hunting with his lifelong friend Steve Chapman. He was also a devoted follower of Michigan State University football and basketball, and in the summer months, Detroit Tigers baseball could always be heard on the radio. These simple and steady pleasures helped define a life that appreciated the outdoors, the comfort of routine, and the enjoyment found in each passing season.

His retirement years were especially meaningful to him as he shared them with his wife, Laura. Family remained an important part of his life throughout the years, and those connections continued to shape his story.

Thomas is survived by his sister, Joy (Robert) James; brother, John (Peggy) Kintner; and by his nieces and nephew, Carrie Anne James, Erin (Keith) Dahlenburg, and Alexander Kintner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura (Saldano) Kintner; his parents, Ezra and Marjory (Lannon) Kintner; and his brother, Edward Jack “Ned” Kintner.

Thomas will be remembered for his steady presence, his love of time outdoors, and the familiar traditions that brought him joy, from autumn hunting seasons to summer baseball broadcasts. His life is remembered with gratitude and celebrated in the many memories he leaves behind.

Arrangements were entrusted to Grace Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
