Karla Liebermann

Karla Marie Liebermann, 63, of Branch, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2026.

Karla was the daughter of Karl and Ruth Libermann; life partner of Kenneth Merdzinski; sister of Jerrica Lee, Richard (Julie) Liebermann, and Robert Liebermann; aunt of Nicolette (Wayne) Price, Isabel Price, and Neal Lee.

Karla enjoyed the simple and beautiful pleasures in life: a well-made hot cup of tea, camping, birds, flowers, and all of God’s creations. She also enjoyed good conversations with family and friends, whether in person or on the phone.  While living in Grand Rapids, she worked as an animal handler at John Ball Zoo, where she entertained and educated grade-school children during their class field trips.

Karla loved Jesus most. She desired to be in church even in her most difficult health.

Her dependence on and love for God was reflected in her generosity, kindness, and forgiving nature. She prayed daily for her family and friends, for her caregivers, and fellow patients.

We will miss her on this earth yet rejoice knowing she is with her Savior, Jesus Christ, for eternity.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 6, 2026 at 1 p.m. at Bachelor Evangelical Covenant Church in Sheridan Township, with visitation starting at noon.
