79th District Court felony arraignments, published Oct. 2, 2026

LUDINGTON — The following were arraigned on felony charges recently in Mason County’s 79th District Court:

Christopher John Cobb, 50, dangerous weapons. Offense date: July 22, 2026. Agency: Michigan State Police. Bail: $5,000/personal recognizance. Probable cause hearing: Oct. 14 at 1 p.m.

John Michael Copenhaver, 61, third-offense operating while intoxicated. Offense date: Sept. 21, 2026. Agency: Mason County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO). Bail: $2,500/cash. Probable cause hearing: Oct. 21 at 1 p.m.

Nicholas Scott Kouw, 23, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, interfering with electronic communications, domestic violence and fourth-degree child abuse. Agency: MCSO. Offense date: Sept. 19, 2026. Bail: $250/10 percent. Preliminary exam: Oct. 14 at 1:30 p.m.

Christian Teobaldo Rodriguez, 25, three counts of assaulting/resisting/obstructing police and breaking and entering without owner’s permission. Offense date: Sept. 21, 2026. Agency: MCSO. Bail: $20,000/10 percent. Preliminary exam: Oct. 14 at 1:30 p.m.

Ismail James Autman, 35, delivery/manufacture of a narcotic or cocaine and two counts of delivery/manufacture of a schedule 1-3 drug. Offense date: Aug. 19. 2026. In a second file, Autman is charged with another count of delivery/manufacture of a narcotic or cocaine. Offense date: July 16, 2026. Agency: State, Sheriffs’, Chiefs’ Enforcement of Narcotics Team (SSCENT). Bail: $50,000/cash/surety. Preliminary exam: Oct. 14 at 1:30 p.m. 

Jacob Charles Mears, 25, organized retail fraud and second-degree retail fraud. Offense date: Dec. 28, 2025. Agency: MCSO. Bail: $2,500/10 percent. Preliminary exam: Oct. 14 at 1:30 p.m. 

Jessie Myron O’Connor, 45, second-degree criminal sexual conduct—relationship. Agency: Ludington Police Department. Offense date: Aug. 3, 2026. Bail: $100,000/cash/surety. Probable cause hearing: Oct. 7 at 1 p.m.

Autumn Marie Lauer, 29, methamphetamine/ecstasy possession. Agency: MCSO. Offense date: June 2, 2026. Bail: $5,000/PR. Preliminary exam: Oct. 21 at 1:30 p.m.
