Dianne Gibbons
Dianne L. Gibbons passed away peacefully at her home near Wolf Lake early Tuesday, morning, Tuesday, September 29, 2026 one day before her 83rd birthday. Dianne was born on September 30, 1943 in Lapeer, the daughter of Frank A. and Louise M. (Boyd) Bauroth and graduated from Lapeer High School. Dianne furthered her education with a degree in Finance and worked several years as an accountant in the Lake Orion area, caring for her clients bookkeeping and tax filing needs. On September 16, 1989 she married William Ray “Bill” Gibbons at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Lake Orion, and they have celebrated 37 years by each other’s side.
When Bill decided to retire from Chrysler Corp., he and Dianne decided to move to the Wolf Lake area to the property Bill had prepared for them. They were active members of Grace Lutheran Church in Baldwin, and as Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, they were both members of the Baldwin AmVets Post 1988.
Dianne was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Lousie Bauroth; and her brothers Frederick and Edwin Bauroth.
Along with her beloved husband Bill, Dianne will be greatly missed by her children Jeff Sorenson, Timothy Sorenson, and Tina Cissine all of Lake Orion, William Ray Gibbons II of South Warren, and Charles David (Crystal) Gibbons of Eastpointe; 15 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of great friends.
Funeral services will be held for Dianne at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 3 at Grace Lutheran Church in Baldwin with Pastor Daniel Fienen officiating. Burial will take place at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6 at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township. Friends may meet with Dianne’s family on Friday, October 2 from noon to 4 p.m. at Wyman Funeral & Cremation Services – Stephens Funeral Home in Scottville, and on Saturday from 1 p.m. until time of services at the church.
