Employment: Water Treatment Plant Maintenence Relief Operator

The City of Ludington is seeking a Maintenance Relief Operator for its Water Treatment Plant. Responsibilities include plant and equipment maintenance, repairs, water sampling/testing, facility maintenance, and operating the water treatment plant as assigned. The position participates in a rotating on-call schedule and must be available for nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-ins. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, valid Michigan Driver’s License, and EGLE F-4 or higher Water Treatment Operator License. Water/wastewater treatment or maintenance experience preferred. Training may be available for qualified applicants seeking licensure. Must be able to perform physical work, work around water treatment chemicals, enter confined spaces, and climb elevated water tanks. Residency within 20 miles of City boundaries is required within six months of employment.
