The following is police activity in Mason County over the Labor Day Weekend:

Friday, Sept. 4, 2026:

  • 10:55 a.m., (Ludington Police Department), a 40-year-old man was arrested for stalking and malicious destruction of property following a domestic complaint, 700 block of East Danaher Street, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 1:20 p.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), two-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 west of US 31, Amber Township.
  • 9:36 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Larson Road north of Hansen Road, Branch Township.
  • 9:46 p.m., (LPD), a 22-year-old Ludington man was cited for operating without insurance, near Ludington Avenue and Jackson Road, City of Ludington.
  • 10:40 p.m., (MCSO), a 21-year-old Ludington man was arrested for assault following a 911 call of a fight in the roadway, Jebavy Drive and Rasmussen Road, Pere Marquette Township. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026:

  • 12:39 a.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, with injury, 300 block of West Free Soil Road, Free Soil Township. A 26-year-old Free Soil man received non-life-threatening injuries after the vehicle he was operating ran off the road, struck a large stump and rolled over.
  • 1:04 a.m., (LPD), a 43-year-old man was arrested for probation violation, Waterfront Park, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 6:27 p.m., (LPD), a 67-year-old Ludington man was arrested for assault, Gaylord Street and Lowell streets, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 6:36 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Sugar Grove Road west of Custer Road, Sherman Township.
  • 7:19 p.m., (MCSO), a 56-year-old Scottville man was arrested for domestic assault, 2900 block of North US 31, Sherman Township. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 11:30 p.m., (LPD), a 28-year-old Colorado woman was arrested for operating while intoxicated following a traffic stop, near Stearns Outer Drive and Court Street, City of Ludington. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

Sunday, Sept. 6, 2026:

  • 12:20 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Stiles Road north of Johnson Road, Amber Township.
  • 9:01 a.m., (LPD), a 21-year-old Portland, Mich. man was cited for violating a restricted license following a traffic stop, Ludington Avenue and Rath Avenue, City of Ludington.
  • 1:26 p.m., (MCSO), a 39-year-old Manistee woman turned herself in at the sheriff’s office on an outstanding Mason County felony drug warrant, City of Ludington. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 9:56 p.m., (MCSO), a 40-year-old Free Soil man was arrested for operating while intoxicated following a traffic stop, US 10 and US 31, Amber Township. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

Monday, Sept. 7, 2026:

  • 9:21 a.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, Brye and Johnson roads, Amber Township.
  • 8:16 p.m., (LPD), a 46-year-old Ludington man was cited for operating without insurance following a traffic stop, US 10 and Nelson Road, City of Ludington.
  • 8:33 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Fisher Road west of Peterson Road, Victory Township.
