WSCC to host author Bruce Holsinger Sept. 9

VICTORY TOWNSHIP — West Shore Community College will host “Culpability and Consequence: A Conversation with Bruce Holsinger” Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 9:30 a.m. at the college’s Center Stage Theater.

The program is part of HumanKind, West Shore’s cultural arts series, which includes presentations, workshops, film screenings, art exhibitions and performing arts events throughout the year.

This year’s HumanKind theme is “Technology and Humanity,” which explores how technology influences human choices and interactions.

Author and scholar Bruce Holsinger will lead a discussion examining culpability, responsibility and consequence in relation to contemporary technology and its impact on humanity.

“HumanKind gives us an opportunity to pause and consider the ways technology is changing what it means to be human,” said Patti Skinner, West Shore director of library services and a member of the HumanKind committee. “Holsinger’s work provides a compelling starting point for conversations about responsibility, choice and the outcomes of the decisions we make in an increasingly technological world.”

The event is free and open to the public.
