
Sue Bayle
Susan “Sue” Beth Bayle, 82, of Scottville, passed away on Monday, Aug. 24, 2026.
Sue was born on Aug. 9, 1944, to the late Marion Russell Ferris and Eldonna Louise (Bosworth) Ferris Adams. She graduated from Mason County Central High School and later attended Davenport University where she earned her associate degree in business. On July 21, 2000, she married James “Jim” A. Schneider. For 30 years she was employed by Mason County Central Schools, where she was best know for being a bus driver. She also held positions as an administration clerk, retiring in 2004. She was also a limo driver. She was a member of United Methodist Church of Scottville.
Sue’s hobbies were a testament to her energetic and fun-loving spirit. She enjoyed reading, gardening, playing penny slots at the casino, and engaging in puzzles and cross-stitch. Sue also loved mowing the lawn, discovering seashells, golfing, spending summers at the softball field, and lunching with family and friends.
Sue will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her, as she made a lasting impact through her caring and positive demeanor.
Sue is survived by her husband, Jim Schneider; son, Thomas Byron Bayle; daughter, Stacy (Adrian) Martinez; stepson, Chris (Lori) Schneider; grandchildren, Sam Bayle, Becca (Dave) Tuka, Aidan Thomas Martinez, Austin Michael Martinez, and Caitlin Schneider; siblings, Brian (Pauline) Ferris, and Jill Whitaker; and several nieces and nephews.
Sue was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard Allen Bayle; son, Samual Allen Bayle; parents, Marion Ferris and Eldonna Ferris Adams; stepfather, Victor “Don” Adams; and many other extended family members and in-laws.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Grace Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. You can also plant a tree in her honor.
