MUSKEGON — Longtime Muskegon journalist and community leader Dave Alexander will serve as narrator during a special history cruise aboard the Aquastar on Sunday, July 5, sharing stories about Muskegon Lake’s maritime heritage while passengers experience the waterfront from the water.
The Live Narration Cruise will highlight the ships, industries and people that transformed Muskegon into one of the Great Lakes’ busiest ports. During previous narrated cruises, passengers viewed vessels ranging from historic Great Lakes freighters to the Aquastar itself, the lake’s newest passenger cruise vessel, while learning about the harbor’s evolution from its lumbering era to its modern commercial and recreational uses. The cruises also provide close-up views of Muskegon Lake landmarks, commercial docks, marinas and the Lake Michigan channel.
