LUDINGTON — Community members are invited to help launch a new organization dedicated to supporting the Ludington Senior Center and advocating for the area’s growing senior population.
The Ludington Senior Citizens Advisory Board will host kick-off meetings for the proposed Friends of the Ludington Senior Center on Thursday, June 25, at 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. at the Ludington Senior Center, 308 S. Rowe St.
The new group will focus on informing and educating people of all ages about issues affecting senior citizens, advocating for senior services, supporting improvements to facilities and programs at the senior center, and encouraging financial support for the center.
The advisory board is encouraging residents to attend one of the meetings and become involved in the effort.
Officials said the Friends group will provide an opportunity for community members to support programs and services that benefit local seniors while helping address the needs of an increasing senior population in the Ludington area.
