LUDINGTON — A 33-year-old Ludington man accused of carjacking and vehicle theft following an incident at Stearns Park last summer underwent mental competency testing.

Lamb
Christopher John-Henry Lamb was found mentally competent by the Center for Forensic Psychiatry, said Mason County Prosecuting Attorney Beth Hand.
Lamb is scheduled for a review conference Wednesday, June 24, in Mason County’s 79th District Court, according to court records.
“The defense requested an independent evaluation, and we are waiting on the results from that evaluation,” said Prosecutor Hand. The conference will be a status update regarding the independent evaluation.
“At approximately 1:29 a.m., two female individuals from the Scottville area met at Stearns Park, at which time one entered the other’s vehicle,” states a press release from the Ludington Police Department that was issued shortly after the incident. “While inside the vehicle, a male suspect — identified as a 32-year-old Ludington resident (now 33 years old) — attempted to gain entry into the vehicle with them but was unsuccessful due to the doors being locked.
“The women then left the area, temporarily leaving behind one of their vehicles,” the press release states. “Upon returning a short time later, they discovered the suspect sitting inside the unattended vehicle. The suspect then proceeded to follow the women in the stolen vehicle as they drove away.”
Lamb is charged with felonies of carjacking and car theft. He is free after posting a $10,000 surety bond, according to court records.
