Alan Bruce Talbert, 57, of Scottville, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026, in Traverse City.
Alan, lovingly known as Al, was born July 31, 1968, in Seattle, Wash., the son of the late Lawrence and Carol (Reif) Talbert. He graduated from Baldwin High School with the class of 1988. On August 18, 2001, Alan married Shirley Kuchta and they shared over 25 years together.
Alan spent his career as a laborer, contributing many years of service at Morton Salt, and had previously worked at Metal Works and Hayworth.
A member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Ludington, Alan’s faith was a central aspect of his life. He demonstrated his beliefs through his actions and interactions, always striving to live a Christ-focused life.
Outside of work and church, Alan found joy in tinkering around the garage and fixing cars, skills that he took great pride in. He cherished his walks out to the lighthouse, a peaceful activity that reflected his contemplative nature. Above all, spending time with his wife, children, and extended family was Alan’s greatest pleasure, embodying his role as a true family man.
Known for his unwavering dedication to his faith, family, and work, Alan presence deeply impacted those around him.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Shirley; daughters Elizabeth (Aiden) Talbert and Evelyn Talbert; son Joseph Talbert; sisters Carolyn Sheldon, Gloria Pitman, and Mary Fredricks; brothers William Talbert, James Talbert, and David Talbert; his best friend’s wife, Wanda (Parks) Olsen; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
