
Theresa Ann Domkowski
Theresa Ann Domkowski, 91, of Ludington, formerly of Glen Ellyn, Ill., passed away on Monday, May 4, 2026.
Terry was born on Sept. 8, 1934, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of the late Leo and Agnes (Cousineau) Reitmeyer. She married Lawrence Domkowski, sharing 49 memorable years with each other. She was a lifelong Catholic who had great faith and prayed the Rosary daily.
Terry’s passion for teaching was evident when she returned to the classroom after her children were older. Known affectionately as Mrs. D., she brought joy and a love of learning to her students, embodying the spirit of an enthusiastic educator. In retirement, she was a dedicated member of Al-Anon, where she sponsored and walked alongside many people who loved her dearly.
Her life was a vivid tapestry of dedication, faith, and education, leaving enduring memories with all who knew her. She impacted so many lives outside of her family by her capacity to love, accept, and be present with people.
Terry is survived by her beloved children, Lawrence (Lisa) Domkowski, Donna (Guy) Sawyer, Joreen (Joel) Redeker, and Jacqueline (David) Wyrick; adored grandchildren, Jonathan (Emma) Redeker, Bethany (Luka) Derungs, Joseph Sawyer, Sara Sawyer, Audrey (Tyler) Stopera, Jackson Wyrick, Matthew Domkowski, and Luke Wyrick; cherished great-grandchild, Eloise, with another great grandchild due any day. She is also survived by her dear sister, Mary (the late Ed) Leininger, as well as many loving nieces and nephews, along with their respective children and grandchildren.
Terry was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry Sr.; and her brothers Alexander (the late Shirley) Reitmeyer and Robert (the late Millie) Reitmeyer.
A Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be held on Wednesday May 13, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. at St. Simon Catholic Church in Ludington, with Rev. Wayne B. Wheeler, Jr. presiding. Visitation begins at 3:00 pm at the church.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Lakeview Cemetery in Ludington at 9:30 a.m.
