Obituary: James Gaylord Parker, 85, of Ludington

James “Jim” Gaylord Parker, 85, of Ludington, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Corewell Health Ludington Hospital. He was born Nov. 17, 1940, in Hart, the son of Gaylord and Ellen (Everson) Parker.

Jim graduated from Ludington High School. Afterwards he served in the U.S. Army. Jim was a life-long dairy and beef farmer who truly loved working on the farm as well as making maple syrup.

Jim is survived by: his children, Sherry Berndt, Jim (Shawn) Parker and Sue Parker; eight grandchildren, Amanda (Thomas), Pauline, Diamond, Breanna (Levi), Seth, Xaylee, Tianna and Darnel; and six great-grandchildren, Brianna, Brayden, Brantley, Zander, Zoey, Kyeece and Lane.

Jim was preceded in death by: his wife, Lynn Parker in 2016; his parents; his great-grandson, Garrett; and his beloved cat, Fred.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 9, 2026, at West Riverton Cemetery.
