LUDINGTON — Ludington High School has named Noah Laman as its new head varsity boys basketball coach.
Laman, a longtime presence in the Orioles program, most recently served as junior varsity head coach and a varsity assistant. He replaces Thad Shank, the winningest coach in school history.
A Ludington graduate, Laman was a three-time varsity captain and part of the Orioles’ 2017 state runner-up team that played at the Breslin Center. He went on to continue his basketball career at Bethel University.
Laman also teaches math at Ludington High School, giving him daily contact with students and athletes.
School officials said Laman’s experience as both a player and coach within the program provides continuity for a team with established expectations.
They said the program is expected to continue its tradition of success under his leadership.
