51st Circuit Court sentences, published April 27, 2026

LUDINGTON — The following were sentenced in Mason County’s 51st Circuit Court Tuesday, April 21, 2026:

Sluyter

Shawn Roy-Gert Sluyter, 51, pleaded no contest Feb. 17 to third-offense domestic violence and was sentenced April 21 to 15 months in prison with credit for 227 days served; no contact with the victim; and $198 in fines and costs. The court did not object to Special Alternative Incarceration (SAI) or “boot camp” after one year served, court records state. Sluyter was on probation at the time of the offense for a Dec. 17, 2024 conviction of third-offense domestic violence, according to court records.

Nash

James Arthur Nash, 53, pleaded no contest March 10 to third-degree fleeing a police officer, two counts of assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer; malicious destruction of trees, grass or shrubs and open intoxicants in a vehicle and was sentenced April 21 to 270 days in jail with credit for 270 days served; three years probation; and $434 in fines and costs. In a second file, Nash pleaded no contest March 10 to fourth-degree fleeing a police officer and assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer and was sentenced April 21 to 300 days in jail with credit for 155 days served; three years probation; and $266 in fines and costs. One count of open intoxicants in a vehicle was dismissed. In a third file, he pleaded no contest March 10 to fourth-degree fleeing a police officer and was sentenced to 300 days in jail with credit for 155 days served; three years probation; and $198 in fines and costs. In a fourth file, Nash pleaded no contest to methamphetamine/ecstasy possession and was sentenced April 21 to one year in jail with credit for 157 days served; three years probation; and $658 in fines and costs. Charges of carrying a concealed weapon, open intoxicants in a vehicle and unlawful license plate were dismissed. The court allowed work release if he is eligible. The files run concurrently.

Krieger

Austin Robert Krieger, 25, pleaded no contest Feb. 17 to third-offense domestic violence and third-offense habitual offender and was sentenced April 21 to 115 days in jail with credit for 115 days served; three years probation; no contact with the victim; and $398 in fines and costs.

Achenbach

Austin Taylor Achenbach, 28, pleaded guilty Oct. 14, 2025 to third-degree child abuse and was sentenced April 21 to six months in jail with credit for two days served; three years probation; and $598 in fines and costs.

Cole

Robert Allen Cole, 58, pleaded guilty Feb. 17 to methamphetamine/ecstasy possession and was sentenced April 21 to four days in jail with credit for four days served and $598 in fines and costs.

Dwyer

Anthony Ward Dwyer, 40, pleaded no contest Feb. 17 to carrying a concealed weapon and was sentenced April 21 to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 11 months probation; and $598 in fines and costs. A delayed sentencing hearing is scheduled for March 9, 2027. If defendants abide by the terms of their probation, they can plead to a reduced misdemeanor charge.
