Fleet in the fog

LUDINGTON — The Lake Michigan Carferry sister ships SS Badger and SS Spartan, along with fleet mate LT-805 of Interlake Logistics Solutions, came and went Monday as Pere Marquette Lake experienced intermittent fog.

These photographs were captured using a combination of a Nikon Z6 II DSLR camera with a Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 lens from the docks of Crosswinds Condominiums, and a Hasselblad digital camera mounted on a DJI Mavic 3 Pro unmanned aircraft system (drone), using a Hasselblad 24mm f/2.8 lens.

Flying a drone in foggy conditions is risky and should only be done while maintaining visual line of sight at all times. In this case, flights during heavy fog were avoided and only resumed when conditions improved enough to keep the aircraft visible at all times.
