Diane Lynn (Gerbers) Paniagua, 61. of Ludington, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026.  Diane was born on May 31, 1964 in Ludington, the daughter of Gerald and Marybelle (Talsma) Gerbers and graduated from Mason County Central High School with the class of 1982.  She furthered her education earning a degree in nursing from West Shore Community College in 2008.  She worked as a registered nurse for Oakview Medical Care Facility and most recently at Medilodge of Ludington.

Growing up as a country girl in Riverton, Diane enjoyed spending summer days riding horses and trying to keep her brothers out of trouble.  Her days now, when not at work, were spent following her passion of reading, working word search puzzles, mastering cross-stitch, and always finding time to watch a good horror flick.

Diane was preceded in death by her father Gerald, and her brothers Tom and James Gerbers.

She will be greatly  missed by  her children Joshua Gerbers of Ludington, Alejandro (Jessica) Paniagua of Custer, and Maria Paniagua also of Ludington; her granddaughters Sophia and Selena Huck; her mother Marybelle Gerbers of Scottville; her sister Nancy (Ron)  Bentz of Kentucky; her brother Mark Gerbers of Scottville; along with her nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Funeral services will be held for Diane at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 18 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Scottville with her pastor, Rev. Kenneth Williamson officiating.  Friends may meet with her family prior to the services from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.  Those who wish to remember Diane with a memorial donation are asked to please consider assisting her children with expenses.
