
Patricia Kipen
Patricia Ada Kipen, 81 of Ludington, passed away in the comfort of her home on Monday, March 30, 2026.
Born on January 21, 1945, in Ludington, Patricia was the daughter of Glen Bowden and Barbara (Henry) Hall. Patricia graduated from Wyoming Park High School in 1963, where she began to shape a life of caring and commitment to others. She was known for her independence, compassion, and resilience throughout her life.
She married Robert Kipen on September 13, 1963, and they shared a wonderful life together. Robert was the former manager of Eberhard’s grocery store in Ludington.
Patricia retired from Meijer in 2016 after 13 years as a produce clerk. Before that she had worked various jobs in the healthcare field.
Patricia enjoyed crocheting, taking care of her animals and any strays she encountered, and cherishing time with her family. Patricia’s home on Hamlin Lake was a hub of activity and joy, hosting gatherings with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom were the light of her life.
Her love and care extended beyond her family, touching everyone she met with her loving and caring nature.
Patricia will be deeply missed by her husband Robert; her sons Keith (Tammy) Kipen and Bryan Kipen; daughter Kim (Ray) Comstock; granddaughter Amanda (Eric) Haiss; grandson Christian (Melissa) Haiss; great-grandchildren Jax Trolz, Freya Haiss, and in July, AdaLynn Trolz; siblings Ben (Donna) Hall and Lisa (Scott) Bruns; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents Barbara and Frank (adopted father) Hall and Glen Bowden; brothers Eben, Christopher, and Mike Hall; sister Mary (Tom) Hartwick, and niece Katherine Muscarella.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Grace Funeral Home.
