Darlene Dodson

Darlene Kay Dodson, 78 of Fountain, passed away unexpectedly early Sunday morning, March 15, 2026.

Born May 14, 1947, in Ludington, Darlene was the daughter of the late Felix Charles and Eunice May (Genson) Mickevich. She graduated from Mason County Central and went on to attend West Shore Community College where she received her associate degree as a licensed practical nurse (LPN).

Darlene married the love of her life, Thomas Ray Dodson Sr., on September 8, 1966. This year would have been 60 years that they spent together.

She was an LPN at Tender Care in Ludington for 25 years before retiring in 2011.

Known for her fun-loving spirit and diligent work ethic, Darlene brought joy and beauty into the lives of those around her.

An avid gardener, Darlene cherished her time spent outdoors, tending to her plants and flowers. Her yard was a testament to her dedication, always brimming with vibrant blooms and lush greenery during the summer months. This passion for gardening was only rivaled by her love for her dog, Ginger, who was not just a pet but her best friend. Together, they spent countless hours in the company of nature.

Darlene’s legacy is marked not only by her love for the natural world but also by the warmth and brightness she brought into the lives of her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas R. Dodson Sr.; daughter Brenda L. Dodson; son Robert C. (Amanda) Dodson; daughter-in-law Cristina Dodson; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brother Jack Mickevich; and many other family and friends.
