Nellie Anderson
Nellie May Anderson, 102, of Ludington, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2026.
Nellie was born on April 16, 1923, in Riverton Township to Robert and Emma (Kiefer) Bedker. She attended East Riverton School and graduated from Scottville High School with the class of 1941 as the salutatorian.
On March 28, 1943, she married Melvin Anderson in Newaygo. Nellie was preceded in death by her husband and son James.
Nellie worked at the State Savings Bank of Scottville, the Ludington State Bank, Paulina Stearns Hospital, and retired from Memorial Medical Center. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, St. John’s Lutheran Church, and attended the Community Church of Ludington.
She is survived by her daughter, Ruth Anderson, of Ludington; son, Dr. Gary (Cheryl) Anderson, of Wooster, Ohio; granddaughter, Dr. Laura (Brian) Anderson McIntyre; and great-granddaughter Emma Rose McIntyre of Stevens Point, Wis.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public calling hours or funeral service.
